Buddy was returned to REGAP in late 2009 after living in another home for years. Thankfully Helen & Bob opened their hearts to this handsome, sweet boy. He had a wonderful life with them and his grey brothers. He truly had some of the best years, he will be dearly missed. Facebook post from Helen:
With a very sad heart,I need to share with you all that Bob and I sent our most beautiful brindle greyhound Buddy to the bridge Saturday morning to be with his brothers, Max and Lucky. He suffered a stroke and his legs were paralized We couldn't help him so we sent him home. We were so blessed to have him be part of our family for so long but as far as we are concerned not long enough. He was just the best, most kind hearted soul you could ever want to know and we will miss him and his big bunny ears forever. Run painfree at the bridge sweet boy! We will love you and miss you forever |

Early this morning we sent our precious Sanibel to heaven to be with her family who were all waiting for her.... She had a short fight with what turned out to be osteosarcoma, first manifest by an on and off limp in her rear bilateral legs (took her to doc 4/30 and then several more times for the same thing) then, the worst news confirmed on x-ray of her left leg just this past Friday. It was in her humerus. She had gone downhill fast since Friday and this morning we had to let her free. We are heart broken, there will never be another Sanibel! We loved her so very much.
Thank you for calling us when Sanibel needed a new home. We loved her to pieces. She would have turned 10 on 8/1. Our hearts are broken. She was one in a million, our precious "Sanibella" ! Love, Cindy & Leo and Stormy, Onyx & Larue |

Grey’s Paperdance went to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. She lived over 13 years, 5 ½ of them in charge of the Domkowski household. Her spirit was still willing, but her body couldn’t continue.
When I was home she shadowed me everywhere – I called her my “hazard to navigationâ€. She always seemed to know where I was going to step next – and put her body right there. The kitchen will seem larger without her constant presence – just in case there was something edible being prepared.
I will miss the thumping of her feet against the wall as she ran in her dreams, and the occasional gentle snores when she was sleeping soundly (but not the farts!).
Now her legs are straight and strong and she is running like the wind, where the water is cold, the treats abundant, and the sun warm. Until we meet again |

Sadly WJS Flam aka Santo crossed Rainbow Bridge...here is what Mom Nichole said " It's the hardest thing to do when you say goodbye to your best buddy and pet. I had to let go of my beloved greyhound Santo this morning and it was the by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. My sweet, sweet Santo is at peace and no longer in pain. My heart is broken and I already miss him so much....I will love you always Santo 💗and Dad Drew said "Goodbye Santo. The only dog I've ever liked (and that liked me). Six years to the day from his namesake Ron Santo's passing. At least one Santo saw a Cubs World Series win..."

Hi fb friends. I have sad news tonite. My blaze greyhound passed tonite. He's been going downhill since John died last Nov. But his back legs have been terribly weak. And he stopped eating sat nite. Only ate chicken if I fed him by hand. Drinking tons of water the past two days and barely making it outside in time. Prob liver/kidney failure. Very sad and have a heavy heart |

Gunney was so happy, free spirited, tough and always the first one to step in to protect us and his brothers around other animals. We added him to our family after racing in 2008- the 3rd brother to join us for his retirement years. Yesterday a piece of our heart was taken once again, and we already miss his goofiness, windmill tail, his barking at JesseJames at dinner time. But we are happy that he is reunited with his best buddy Wyatt. They had an unbreakable bond and now they are running free & tearing it up together again at Rainbow Bridge. |

We tried everything to keep him comfortable but on Monday (the 18th, ironically Onyx's birthday) he let us know that it was time, he had had enough. His poor old body just wasn't working anymore and he could not walk or even stand, in his last hours here at home, he had even given up on eating or drinking. He let us know that it was time, he was tired and in pain. We held him in our arms one last time and our wonderful doctor who has worked tirelessly to help us to keep him comfortable in his last years helped him one last time and he went to sleep. It was time, our sweet boy just had had enough. We know that he is now whole again, running and happy and pain free, to be with his beautiful Momma Freeflight and his loving brothers, Blue Ice and Blue Chip who were waiting for him. What a reunion that must have been. We miss him so much! He was the sweetest guy... |

Beautiful Jig was diagnosed with bone cancer. She had a wonderful life with Kevin, Sue and Alexandra. She also lived with Greys Park Avenue before she passed in 2010. Here is the note we received from her Mom when Jig passed: Jig passed away faster than we anticipated. Her pain was clearly getting worse and although we didn't want to let her go we knew it was the right thing to do. She was such a sweet goofy firl, we're going to miss her terribly. |
