Rush Forthe StarJune 6, 2003 - May 3, 2016
Another sad day that the Moore home. Today we lost Our Beautiful Angel (Rush for the Stars) while under for a teeth cleaning. We knew that it was a risk to have her teeth done, but her mouth was a mess. She wouldn't let us do it for her and if we touched her mouth she would bite at us. We've been playing it over and over in our head to have it done or not. It had to be done. I forgot to say that she wasn't the healthiest dog either. frown emoticon We will miss Our Miss Angel. This is her season. She LOVED the pools!! She was a good girl. Your Mom and Dad Love You Angel |

Happy Soul (Maggie)May 24, 2005 - April 23, 2016
A note from her Mom, Peggy:
My dear sweet Momma Maggie (Happy Soul) crossed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. She was 10 years and 11 months old and she passed from Osteosarcoma. She was diagnosed 6 months ago and I am thankful for everyday we had together. She was the sweetest, laid back girl that brought so much happiness to us, especially to Blair. I have adopted Greyhounds of all ages, however, I strongly encourage anyone looking to adopt, to consider a Momma Greyhound. Blair, her daughter Meg and I will miss her more than anything. |

Greys BattalionNote from his Mom, Cindy: Sad news. Our sweet Battalion has been in declining health for the last several months. We tried everything to keep him comfortable but on Monday (the 18th, ironically Onyx's birthday) he let us know that it was time, he had had enough. His poor old body just wasn't working anymore and he could not walk or even stand, in his last hours here at home, he had even given up on eating or drinking. He let us know that it was time, he was tired and in pain. We held him in our arms one last time and our wonderful doctor who has worked tirelessly to help us to keep him comfortable in his last years helped him one last time and he went to sleep. It was time, our sweet boy just had had enough. We know that he is now whole again, running and happy and pain free, to be with his beautiful Momma Freeflight and his loving brothers, Blue Ice and Blue Chip who were waiting for him. What a reunion that must have been. We miss him so much! He was the sweetest guy... |

AHK Miss Mippa (Julia)July 25, 2005 - April 5, 2016
Message from her Mom, Donna:
I helped my sweet Julia onto the bridge this afternoon. Last night as I was getting everyone up to go out, she stumbled then started screaming. I was able to calm her down, but she would not put any weight on her leg. I suspect she fractured a bone. Now she is no longer in pain. House is very empty without my Juls. |

Jet KruseJune 1, 2005 - April 1, 2016 Jet was relinquished to REGAP at the age of 9. We were told he wouldn't do well with other dogs either. He hit the jackpot when Nancy, who had recently lost her beautiful grey girl Josie, decided to take a chance on this handsome senior boy. They enjoyed their time together, Nancy was retired so they would go on road trips to Arizona and other places, more months at a time. They eventually moved out to Arizona. Jet had been dealing with an autoimmune issue that prednisolone eventually couldn't even help anymore. Thank you for giving Jet the best years of his life. |

TessieMessage from Tessie's Mom, Julie, on March 27: Today we said goodbye to my sweet little Tessie. I had her since she was 10 months old. She was my heart dog! I will miss her so much!!! She was so strong. She beat cancer twice and struggled with diabetes. She was such a little fighter. We bought our house together almost 10 years ago so she could have her very own fenced in yard. I just sold the house. She got to say goodbye to her house this weekend. She went peacefully. Run free my beautiful girl! Run and play with Aristocrat and Guinness...and bug the heck out of Uncle Paul for eternity!! I love you! You will NEVER be forgotten and you will FOREVER have a huge piece of my heart!!! |

Greys Riflerange (Buddy)April 2, 2005 - March 19, 2016
Buddy was returned to REGAP in late 2009 after living in another home for years. Thankfully Helen & Bob opened their hearts to this handsome, sweet boy. He had a wonderful life with them and his grey brothers. He truly had some of the best years, he will be dearly missed. Facebook post from Helen:
With a very sad heart,I need to share with you all that Bob and I sent our most beautiful brindle greyhound Buddy to the bridge Saturday morning to be with his brothers, Max and Lucky. He suffered a stroke and his legs were paralized We couldn't help him so we sent him home. We were so blessed to have him be part of our family for so long but as far as we are concerned not long enough. He was just the best, most kind hearted soul you could ever want to know and we will miss him and his big bunny ears forever. Run painfree at the bridge sweet boy! We will love you and miss you forever |

Greys Gunslinger (Gunney)January 10, 2004 - March 18th, 2016
Post from Gunney's Mom, Coleen: Wyatt Earp welcomed his handsome brother Gunslinger to rainbow bridge yesterday morning. Gunney was so happy, free spirited, tough and always the first one to step in to protect us and his brothers around other animals. We added him to our family after racing in 2008- the 3rd brother to join us for his retirement years. Yesterday a piece of our heart was taken once again, and we already miss his goofiness, windmill tail, his barking at JesseJames at dinner time. But we are happy that he is reunited with his best buddy Wyatt. They had an unbreakable bond and now they are running free & tearing it up together again at Rainbow Bridge. |

Charley collapsed suddenly while on a walk and started having seizures. He was rushed to the ER but unfortunately he had swelling in his brain and they had to let him go. They believe it was a stroke. He was his Mom's special boy. His family is devastated, he was a very handsome and sweet boy. Message from Sally:
Our big boy Charley crossed over the rainbow bridge. Brain swelling and no hope of recovery. He was the love of our lives. We were looking to many more years with him. Not to be. Thank you everyone for your love |

BBs FreegrazerAugust 2, 2003 - March 14, 2016
Beautiful Momma, BeBe, lived a wonderful retirement life with Bob & Alice. She also lived with her son, Floyd.
Message from Alice on Facebook: BeBe's health issues started with a hip problem quickly degenerated. She lost almost 10 pounds in a couple of months and was in a lot of pain. She dragged the bad leg and the muscles were gone!! Dr Wahl tried different meds, but nothing was helping. I think she gave up.
Run wild, run free at the bridge BeBe, We'll miss you! |

Greys Typhoon (Ty)June 2, 2003 - March 7, 2016
Ty was such a sweet & handsome boy. He had a wonderful life with his Mom, Brandi. Our thoughts are with her while her heart heals.
Here's a message from Brandi: Ty, You weren't just a dog, but a force. Your crazy personality and antics made you well known and most just referred to you as "The Greyhound ". You were truly one of a kind. You left me with a empty couch, a broken heart, and a ton of fond memories. I'll see you on the other side. Til then I will continue entertaining audiences with my crazy greyhound stories. |

Greys Silver IceJuly 29, 2004 - February 27, 2016
It is with a broken heart I write to tell you of my sad news. Today I had to put my darling girl Ice to sleep. She had cancer and it spread to her spine. She lost control of her hind legs. She lost the sight in left eye completely. She could no longer walk.
Dr.Wahl, Avenue Animal Hospital, Tinley Park, quite possibly the kindest, sweetest, most gentle man I’ve ever known, checked her over and when I saw the look on his face, I knew the moment I’ve been dreading would be happening shortly.
Dr. Wahl wears his heart upon his sleeve just like the rest of animal lovers. Perhaps if she were younger, he may have suggested surgery, but given her age and condition, the decision was left in my hands. |
