Message from his Mom, Colleen:
Today I said goodbye (for now, until we meet again) to my big handsome Nate (Greys Detonator). I had been worried about the dreaded osteosarcoma because he has had an intermittant limp. Today his humerus shattered. I set him free of pain. He was a wonderful boy. BIG and handsome and sweet, a gentle giant. Everyone that met him loved him. Godspeed big guy I'll miss you everday

09-03_Greys_Hez_Adream_28Holmes29.jpg Greys Hez Adream (Holmes)3/30/04 - 9/3/16
Message from the Russell Family:
Holmes was a special greyhound who is pictured here doing what he loved best, being part of his pack. On the day of this photo Holmes was having a good ear day with both ears going in the same direction. Most days this was not the case. He took his ears, huge overbite and assorted special traits in stride though and thoroughly enjoyed each day. He was a fantastic ambassador for greyhound adoption for many years by working his charms at many meet and greets. He also was an adventurous hound but took mishaps like getting suck in an elevator, getting stranded on slippery grass in the back yard and having to have a a mall security escort in stride. Sadly he fractured his front leg last night most likely doing what he loved to do, romping in the yard. Our vet found a tumor and the tell tale signs of osteo on the X-rays. Due to his hind leg instability, our only option was to say goodbye. It was a very peaceful and fast journey. We all miss him dearly.
08-12_Speedball_Win_28Winnie29.jpg Speedball Win (Winnie)July 5, 2003 - August 12, 2016
Message from Sandy & Norm:
Our beautiful sweet Winnie is pain free, running and playing once again. This last week was awful for her having more pain and difficulty getting around. Since her 13 birthday things started going south and nothing could stop the progression of her pain. We shall miss her so and I hope Runway can handle being the only child.
08-09_Greys_Groundball_28Cash29.jpg Greys Groundball (Cash)7-28-2005 - 8-9-2016
Message from his family:
Today was the hardest day, we said goodbye to our sweet boy Cash. He was 11 years young. He was part of our family for 8 years, not nearly long enough. The lessons this dog taught me are innumerable. I watched him lose his way after our original greyhound died suddenly but soon after, he was leader of the pack, which he remained until today. I saw him choose to not eat his own food until dogs older and sicker than him finished theirs while he stood guard. I have never had a snuggle as genuine as his. Because of this dog, I learned what love was really about. I learned to share my dogs with someone I no longer shared a life with because we each still loved them, and you can never have enough love. When we said goodbye to Cash today, he was with me, Greg, and Kent. The room was so full of love I felt proud to be a part of it, and Cash deserved nothing less. While our hearts are broken, Cash is running pain free in a better place. Run free sweet boy, fly high!

07-26_Internet_28Maya29.jpg Internet (Maya)August 8, 2007 - July 26, 2016
Message from her Mom, Gretchen:
It has been a horrible summer for us. I had to put Maya down yesterday. She developed the dreaded limp and it was so bad within 24 hours she wouldn't even get up to go to the bathroom. Osteosarcoma. I had to have the vet come to the house and put her down right there. I couldn't even consider trying to get her in the car. She was in such pain. We are still mourning over Cabo but this has left us devastated
07-25_Electrom_28Haven29.jpg Electrom (Haven)April 28, 2008 - July 25, 2016
Message from her Mom, Mona:
In Memory of Our Beautiful Electrom (Haven). We sent her to the Rainbow Bridge today after a long battle with soft cell cancer. She was the daughter of Greys Royal Crown and the Mom to Calista, Liquid Fire and Come Back Wilson. We will miss her always.
07-18_Highland_Dollar_28Sanibel29.jpg Highland Dollar (Sanibel)August 1, 2006 - July 18, 2016
Message from Sanibel's family:
Early this morning we sent our precious Sanibel to heaven to be with her family who were all waiting for her.... She had a short fight with what turned out to be osteosarcoma, first manifest by an on and off limp in her rear bilateral legs (took her to doc 4/30 and then several more times for the same thing) then, the worst news confirmed on x-ray of her left leg just this past Friday. It was in her humerus. She had gone downhill fast since Friday and this morning we had to let her free. We are heart broken, there will never be another Sanibel! We loved her so very much.
Thank you for calling us when Sanibel needed a new home. We loved her to pieces. She would have turned 10 on 8/1. Our hearts are broken. She was one in a million, our precious "Sanibella" ! Love, Cindy & Leo and Stormy, Onyx & Larue

06-30_Greys_Courageous.jpg Greys CourageousJune 13, 2003 - June 30, 2016
Message from her Mom, Thompson
She was the sweetest Greyhound I ever met. She loved food and a comfortable dog bed. She never got up on the furniture. It was her choice. She had a gentle soul. We were proud that Mona and George have her pup Kissinger and Christine and Chris have Pookie. When we met (Pookie) he wanted nothing to do with us. We knew he went to the best home cause they had adopted Couragous mother. The hole in are hearts is still there. Even now I can barely type cause the tears won't stop. Love you Courageous!

Note from her Mom, Donna:
My sweet little Phoebe crossed onto the bridge yesterday. I am still in shock that she is gone. Phoebe was my shy girl, but once she felt comfortable, she was a happy girl with a smile on her face. When she would wag her tail, her whole backend would wag...earning her the nickname of Wigglebutts or Wigs for short. I miss her tremendously. Hug your fur kids and cherish every day.
06-22_AMF_Dodge_Lite_28Hunter29.jpg AMF Dodge Lite (Hunter)July 8, 2004 - June 22, 2016
A note from his Mom, Helen:
It is with a very heavy heart that I must let everyone know that last Wednesday we sent another of our precious greyhounds to the bridge. Our most handsome Hunter broke his shoulder. He was diagnosed with bone cancer and nothing could be done to save him. Our baby is now running painfree at the bridge with his brothers. Love you and miss you forever, sweet boy.
06-09_Greys_Night_Spice.jpg Greys Night SpiceMay 11, 2005 - June 9, 2016
Our precious Spicy boy (aka Pupalicious), has crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning while having a seizure. I gave him CPR but I couldn't bring him back. We are absolutely devastated.
05-24_Citizens_Arrest_28Strauss29.jpg Citizens Arrest (Strauss)February 22, 2011 - May 24, 2016
A note from his Mom, Colleen:
One month ago today we celebrated his second gotcha day. Today we said goodbye until we meet again at The Bridge. Yesterday Strauss broke his femur. Today an orthopedic surgeon confirmed the break was caused by a bone tumor.
He was a sweet momma's boy, a talker, a whiner. He loved all people especially kids. He never destroyed his toys he loved them. An impressive athlete, a D'Arcy kennel favorite and treasured pet. My handsome boy lives forever in my heart.
05-23_Chicken_28Cabo29.jpg Chicken (Cabo)July 22, 2007 - May 23, 2016
Note from her Mom, Gretchen:
I just wanted to reach out to you to let you know that sweet Cabo passed away on Monday. On March 1, 2016 Cabo was diagnosed with colon cancer. A tumor was found at the base of her colon right at her rectum. I made the decision to keep her comfortable but not to operate since the tumor was in a very difficult place to remove and given her age and the fact that from the ultrasound it looked as if the cancer had already spread to the nearest lymph node.
The medicine really wasn't helping her these past two weeks. So, we had Lap of Love come out to our house on Monday so she could be with her pack when she crossed the rainbow bridge and so Maya would understand why Cabo will no longer be with us. Lap of Love was wonderful, so gentile and caring. I am heartbroken to lose my sweet baby girl but I know she is no longer suffering. Maya seems to understand but is obviously grieving.

Good night sweet prince. We sent Geddy, Grey's Snow Slide, to the bridge today. He deteriorated rapidly and I couldn't stand to watch him suffer anymore
