12-05_Greys_Stormsurge.jpg Greys StormsurgeMarch 28, 2004 - December 5, 2016
Message from her Mom, Cindy:
Our hearts are broken, we sent our sweet Stormy to be with her Momma and her brothers and sisters late this afternoon. When I came home from work today, Stormy did not come to greet me with sister Onyx and big brother Larue... she just would not get out of bed. Doc examined her and said he didn't see signs of a stroke then ran blood work on her and took x-rays of her spine and chest. She was that one special little girl that caught her Daddy's eye right away and he brought her home... I will never forget that day. she was so beautiful, smart and so loving. She loved everybody and everybody loved her. I do want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for our Stormy, she was one in a million and I really don't know how I can keep going without her Mona. I could tell her anything and she would just snuggle me and make me feel better. With all our love, Cindy & Leo and Onyx and Larue

Message from Karrilynn, a friend:
Sadly WJS Flam aka Santo crossed Rainbow Bridge...here is what Mom Nichole said " It's the hardest thing to do when you say goodbye to your best buddy and pet. I had to let go of my beloved greyhound Santo this morning and it was the by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. My sweet, sweet Santo is at peace and no longer in pain. My heart is broken and I already miss him so much....I will love you always Santo 💗and Dad Drew said "Goodbye Santo. The only dog I've ever liked (and that liked me). Six years to the day from his namesake Ron Santo's passing. At least one Santo saw a Cubs World Series win..."
Godspeed Sweet Santo...run healthy and young again

I'm so sorry to tell you this, we sent Angela to the Bridge this morning. She had a stroke on Thanksgiving Eve. We were hoping that she would recover from it but she didn't. Her life wasn't good any longer. Her back right leg was damaged. It just hung and she had to drag it. She kept falling and injuring her right hip. Angela wouldn't give up doing things for herself. She still had an appetite and drank her water, but we had to help her in every way. We were hoping that it was a embolism in her spine. Normally that can be reversed if you give Pred. and Rimadyl asap. We did that, but it didn't work. 😢 Thank You to Gina Trippi and John Kerr for sponsoring Angela
11-29_Greys_Rowdy_Kate.jpg Greys Rowdy KateAugust 9, 2005 - November 29, 2016
Messages from her Mom, Tibby:
I can't believe I'm saying this but we lost our spunky Rowdy Kate today. After being diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis we then found a tumor on her thyroid.
Thank you all for your kind words of comfort. Many of you have recognized that we have lost 3 dogs in the last year. Although this is true, I'm so "greytful" for all the love and fun we've shared. I wouldn't give it up for the world. Daniel and I agreed that they've given us more than we've given them. I am the woman my friends come to for dog advice bc these amazing animals have taught me so much. — with Daniel Starks

Message from her Mom, Susan:
RIP my dear Tigger Omega, the greyhound of my dreams. You were everything I ever imagined and more. I'm so glad I could give you a home and so many fun experiences to treasure. You brought so many moments for me to treasure too. As you cross the rainbow bridge to be with your fellow greyhounds may you enjoy your pain free life, free of the cancer that recently took over your life. Run free Meggie Moo, you will be missed!
11-18_Greys_Paperdance.jpg Greys PaperdanceJuly 8, 2003 - November 18, 2016
Message from her Mom, Kathleen:
Grey’s Paperdance went to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. She lived over 13 years, 5 ½ of them in charge of the Domkowski household. Her spirit was still willing, but her body couldn’t continue.
When I was home she shadowed me everywhere – I called her my “hazard to navigation”. She always seemed to know where I was going to step next – and put her body right there. The kitchen will seem larger without her constant presence – just in case there was something edible being prepared.
I will miss the thumping of her feet against the wall as she ran in her dreams, and the occasional gentle snores when she was sleeping soundly (but not the farts!).
Now her legs are straight and strong and she is running like the wind, where the water is cold, the treats abundant, and the sun warm. Until we meet again

Sweet Foley crossed over the Bridge today from liver failure, probably cancer. It was all very sudden and devastating.
Message from his Mom:
We said goodbye to our Fo today. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Keep a good thought for all our pets today
11-04_Craigie_Aflame_28Dixie29.jpg Craigie Aflame (Dixie)October 1, 2006 - November 4, 2016
Message from his Mom, Susan:
Sad day. Dixie (Craigie Aflame) went to the Rainbow Bridge this morning after we learned she had a massive tumor on or near her spleen. We are heartbroken. We adopted her at age 7, after she had 3 litters of pups (16 total). She was a wonderful companion and she blessed us with the happiest 3 years of watching her blossom into a beautiful pet. We will love & miss you sweet Dixie Momma till we meet again 🐾💔Fly free

Message from his family:
Just wanted to let you know we put Bloomberg down last Wednesday. Thank you for setting us up with such a wonderful boy. Had he not been so perfect, we would have never been as active with greyhound rescue as we became. He was a wonderful ambassador for greyhound rescue and brought smiles to many folks with his 150 pet therapy visits over the years through Therapy Dogs International. We will miss him dearly. Steve

Message from her family:
"Gail" aka Grace developed bone cancer and had to be sent over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. For a while, it was thought to be arthritis acting up at her age and she was on pain pills, but she went lame and xrays revealed the bad news. 'Monte' aka Murphy is fine. Thought you should know. Tearfully, John & Virginia
10-25_Greys_Irishrhyme.jpg Greys IrishRhymeFebruary 1, 2004 - October 25, 2016
Message from his Mom, Kate:
Hi friends- sweet Irishrhyme has crossed the rain on bridge. He made it very clear this morning that he just didn't have it in him any more. He was a good little dog who loved us as much as we loved him. What a sweet boy. Bringing him home as a BOGO with McClintosh 9.5 years ago was the best thing that ever happened to either of us. Our hearts are broken and our house is quiet. 💔💓💔 we loved him and his crazy quirks. But he is back with Mac and meeting Red Cloud.
10-22_Greys_Starflurry_28Mimi29.jpg Greys Starflurry (Mimi)March 1, 2001 - October 22, 2016
Message from her Mom, Lauren:
I am still coming to terms with the loss of my sweetheart Mimi. Saturday October 22, 2016 we had to let her go. Feisty and spirited to the end she stole our hearts. My heart is broken. 15 years and 7.5 months of age.
10-16_Heather_Glen.jpg Heather GlenNovember 10, 2005 - October 16, 2016
Message from her Dad, Ron:
Heather has lost her battle with osteo and gone to the bridge. She was just the sweetest girl anyone could want, also very dedicated to keeping the yard safe from pesky squirrels, raccoons, and skunks. Run free until we meet again, Sweet Heather.
10-14_Greys_Tarrytown.jpg Greys TarrytownJuly 4, 2003 - October 14, 2016
Message Mona received from her family:
It is with breaking hearts that we have to tell you that our wonderful Greys Tarrytown, aka Terry, aka Terry-berry, aka “da boojee”, passed to the rainbow bridge today. Over the last year she was boldly tackling a rare and aggressive cancer (grade III fibrosarcoma) that appeared on her left eyelid. Yesterday she suddenly spiked a fever and lost the use of her hind legs, the vets said that she would not be able to regain her quality of life, which still, even just days ago, included galloping after her stuffie when her humans came home.
We are so heartbroken, but we have hundreds of pictures and videos to remind us of this wonderful momma dog, who after spending almost 8 years at a track, after 2 litters of puppies and a mysterious leg break sometime early in her career, spent 5 years being the dopiest, sweetest, most out-going, love-fueled, retired old lady puppy in the company of her two humans. We jockeyed everyday to see who would be “
10-13_Greys_Mysticgold_28Idina29.jpg Greys Mysticgold (Idina)May 31, 2005 - October 13, 2016
Message from Idina's Mom, Rebecca:
Last night my little Idina crossed the rainbow bridge. We were trying palliative treatment for her bone tumor but last night she was dragging her leg. X-rays showed a fracture at the tumor site. I choose to say goodbye. I miss that silly face like crazy.
10-12_Automatic_Lee.jpg Automatic LeeHere's a message from Mattie's Mom, Cheryl:
Today I had to send my beautiful 12 year old girl, Mattie to the Bridge. She had been losing weight and a vet check did not find anything remarkable. Without a bunch of tests we don't really know what it was. I wasnt going to put her through that when it would not change the outcome. The vet suspected a lymphoma. She drank her Ensure this morning but would not touch her scrambled eggs or her chicken and rice. She seemed so uncomfortable and it got progressively worse as the day wore on, so I gave her the last gift I could give her and that was release from her suffering.
10-11_Greys_Big_Hope.jpg Greys Big HopeJuly 12, 2003 - October 11, 2016
Message from Hope's Mom, Debbie:
Wanted to let you know that my sweet Hope passed away yesterday. My heart is broken, but I am thankful for every moment spent with her. Thank you for allowing us to adopt Hope and bringing this precious girl into our lives. I will never forget the joy she spread to others every day of her life.
